I am looking for plots of land near a body of water. I am an avid fisherman and just bought a wonderful boat. I am in my late 40s and don’t get too much time out on the water but when I do I want to have a great time. I thought that if I was able to buy land I could build a nice little cabin and a dock. I could have my boat on the water and sneak away for some weekends during the year. Because of some smart investments in the 90s, I have a nice nest egg stored away. I lost a little bit during this last market crash but still able to make a land purchase. The area would have to be zoned for residential construction. I know a lot of areas close to bodies of water have restrictions on the type of buildings that can be constructed. I wouldn’t want anything too gaudy or flashy. Just a simple cottage or cabin that could sleep 5 or 6 people comfortably with the amenities of home. I would prefer some land that included access to water but it doesn’t have to be. If there is some land close to a marina than that would be doable. I also know that land sometimes is only sold off in larger quantities so that is doable. I could eventually even section off the excess land and sell it so someone to help pay for some of the costs of construction. Right now I just need to find someone willing to search out some land for me that I can build on.
